Biography
Genrikh was a German language interpreter in the MGB POW camp system. He was born in Riga, Latvia, in 1915. While accompanying a POW transport train through Romania in March 1947, he slipped away at a railway station in Ploiești and hid in Romania. He eventually emigrated to the United States, where from 1960 to 1964 he was living in New York. In 1950, a Latvian court sentenced him to execution in absentia.[i]
