Nikolay Vasilyevich Sivtsov

Николай Васильевич Сивцов

Biography

Sivtsov was born in 1921 in the Voronezh Oblast and graduated from a teacher institute in 1938. He subsequently moved to Tashkent as a teacher.

In May 1942, the Razvedupr dispatched Sivtsov behind German lines on an intelligence mission into the Zhitomir Oblast of Ukraine using the surname Chernyshev. He was captured and recruited by German forces. German intelligence used him for disinformation operations against Soviet forces and he compromised Soviet intelligence personnel and Communist Party activists. In January 1945, he retreated with the Germans to Poznan, Poland, and then in April to Bavaria. No further information is available about his whereabouts.[i]
