Богдан Леонтьевич Велепольский

Biography

Bogdan Leontyevich Velepolskiy was born in 1911 either in the Starobin region of the Minsk Oblast, Belarus or in the Lublin area of Poland; the KGB was not certain. Before the war, he was the director of a school in the Gomel region and was a Communist Party member. In October 1941, he was sent behind German lines as a member of an intelligence team, where he surrendered to German forces. He was recruited in Abwehrgruppe-105, in which he reportedly participated in the capture of Soviet intelligence teams and recruited agents behind Soviet lines. He fled to the West in 1944 and nothing further is known of his whereabouts.[i]
