Yevgeniy Gavrilovich Loshchagin

Yevgeniy Gavrilovich Loshchagin was born in 1925 in the Zubtsov district of the Kalinin (now Tver) Oblast. Before the war he worked as a communication linesman. In October 1942, he was left for a stay-behind intelligence assignment. He was captured by German forces near Vyazma, Smolensk Oblast and recruited as a German intelligence agent for Abwehrgruppe-310. He was involved in anti-partisan operations. From August 1944 to April 1945 he studied in a German “Zeppelin” intelligence school and was a member of a group of German agents in Austria in May 1945, where he reportedly expressed the intention to offer his services to the Americans.[i]
